LOCATION - Cooks Beach is named after the famous explorer James Cook who landed here in 1769. Sand dunes lead you down to a white sandy shoreline which stretches out over 3kms. It is flanked at the eastern end by the Purangi Estuary and at the western end by a freshwater stream – both very picturesque wedding locations. Easy, flat access, plenty of parking close to the beach for your guests

Marriage Celebrant
Lesley Morrison, as well as taking on the duties of Co-ordinator, is also the friendly, caring celebrant who will officiate at your wedding. Lesley considers it a privilege to conduct your marriage ceremony and will make every effort to ensure your wedding day will be perfect and everything you had ever imagined it to be.
Witnesses
In NZ, two witnesses must be present at the ceremony to witness and sign accordingly that a marriage took place in their presence. We will engage two such witnesses who will be honoured to be part of your wedding day.
Bridal Bouquet
It’s traditional for a bride to carry flowers on her wedding day, and who are we to break with tradition? A simple bridal bouquet of seasonal flowers will be lovingly created for you.
Our own personal touches
these are the little things that make you feel special and show that we care:
- A rehearsal on the beach of your choice prior to the ceremony date
- Our Marriage Celebrant will personally visit you at your accommodation on the eve of your arrival to welcome you, discuss your ceremony and take you on an orientation drive to your wedding location.
- A chilled bottle of bubbly/sparkling grape-juice will be on hand to toast the bride and groom at the conclusion of the ceremony.
